Consider This
Consumers often select a funeral home because it’s close to home, has served the family in the past, or has been recommended by someone they trust. But, people who limit their search to just one funeral home may risk paying more than necessary for the funeral or narrowing their choice of goods and services. (excerpt from the Federal Trade Commission free guide, “Funerals: A Consumer Guide”)

  • Find out who owns the funeral home you are likely to contact. Believe it or not, it makes a difference. Corporately owned funeral homes tend to charge much more than privately owned funeral homes. Their overhead for premium real estate, exorbitant building maintenance, huge payroll for hundreds of employees is passed down to you, the consumer, in the form of inflated professional services and merchandise, such as caskets. In fact, there are a number of large family owned businesses that operate similarly.

  • Ask your place of worship if they will allow a brief period of visitation prior to the service in their facility. Even if they make an additional charge for this, you will still achieve substantial savings from those imposed by a funeral home.

  • If you are unaffiliated with a religious institution, we may be able to provide you with alternatives throughout the region.

  • Take it from experience...Owner / Funeral Director, Steven Kleinberg has served families for over twenty three years in South Florida, Chicago, Boston and New York. He has worked for corporately-owned funeral homes as Manager, Pre-need Sales Counselor and Manager, Monument Sales, and Primary Funeral Arranger. They claim to provide a higher level of service and merchandise than their competition, when in reality, we all have the same professional licenses, order our products from the same distributors, and obtain our vehicles from the same sources. Mr. Kleinberg has also worked for small and medium sized family owned funeral homes.

  • Personality makes a difference. During your time of grief, you do not want to deal with someone who is not sensitive to your needs. You do not want to be “shuffled” around from funeral director to funeral director, each time having to start over by developing a new relationship. For the short time we are together, your needs will be handled by me, Steven Kleinberg.
I appreciate your trust and faith.
